Hello to everybody.
I have just joined the Ausjet webpage and it looks great. I am a closet jet junkie who is just about ready to dive in and get a turbine, but Brian Kenton from my model club ( westernport model aircraft club )has beaten me ( and several others ) to the punch by just getting his Etstes ( i hope that is spelt right )turbine from Ausjet.
He has been showing me correspondance and photos of his turbine which he has been recieving from Rob from Ausjet and the service looks second to none in Australia.
Brian has been one of our hotshot pilots in the club since it started and has in the past flown a lot of ducted fans so it was no surprise to seem him go to turbines.
I sent Brian an e-mail and asked if he would bring his turbine to our monthly meeting and spool it up which he agreed to do.I must admit, i am over the moon on how good the quality of his Estes turbine when he got it out of the car. We decided to postpone the meeting for half an hour and Brian showed everyone the start up and run sequence of the turbine. Boy, that thing has got some thrust at 11 kgs rating. I just hope the panther he is installing it into can handle the power!!!
It definetly got a lot of the guys talking and everyone was super impressed and sad to see Brian shut it down but it was after 7.30 at night and we didnt want to disturb the locals too much. Its very easy to get addicted to the smell of burnt kero.
I am definetly a lot closer to getting a turbine now and will definetly be getting it from Rob at Ausjets after the service and back up Brian is getting .
Brian tells me Rob has asked him to be the Victorian factory pilot for Ausjet so congratulations to Brian.
Well , till the next blog.
Best regards, Gavan
